I met up with Eryn and Matt in the fall for an engagement shoot in Fort Collins. We spent some time in Old Town and on the banks of the Poudre River to take photos at the end of the day when the sun was setting and the light was perfect for photography. Matt and Eryn were so easy to photo because they had such a great time kidding around and having fun together.
In late June, I caught up with them again to photograph their lovely wedding at one of my personal favorite venues, Della Terra in Estes Park, Colorado. We often get to see some wildlife roaming the grounds of Della Terra, but this was the first wedding when we saw turkeys, a buck, and a bear! After Eryn and Matt spent the morning getting ready and hanging out with their family and closest friends, it was time for their first look picture on the grounds of Della Terra nestled against the mountains.
After the ceremony, the guests gathered for a petal toss for the new couple. Then Eryn and Matt and I headed outside into the perfect summer weather to stroll the grounds for about a half hour of portraits. I love this time; it’s such such a great time for the couple to just enjoy being together after all the excitement of the day. The stress-free tone of these portrait sessions always results in fantastic photos. You can almost see the stress of the day melting off their shoulders!
The reception kicked off as the sun slowly went down over the mountains. The couple and their guests enjoyed emotional and heartfelt toasts, followed by formal dances. Then everyone let their hair down and finally got to the party. When I left around 10pm the dance floor was still packed and didn’t show signs of slowing down. Thank you Eryn and Matt for choosing me to be a part of your special day! I wish you a lifetime of happiness!
