On a beautiful sunny day in May, Emily and Sam exchanged vows in a destination wedding at Della Terra Mountain Chateau in Estes Park. They were fortunate to have 65 of their closest friends and family travel to join them for the wedding day. As luck would have it, the weather in Estes Park was warm enough for an outside ceremony, despite the snow.
Emily and her bridesmaids got ready in the new salon room at Della Terra, while Sam and his groomsmen spent the early part of the day getting ready and watching movies in the theatre room. About two hours before the ceremony Emily and Sam had an emotional first look on the bridge at Della Terra, then moved right into pre-ceremony wedding party portraits. Getting some portraits done before the ceremony gave us time to drive into Rocky Mountain National Park for photos of the bride and groom right after the ceremony was finished. I always think it’s great for the bride and groom to get away for some intimate portraits after the ceremony, it provides them with a little break from the day and they can relax for a bit before the start of the reception.
Once the reception started, Jay Kacik from Standing Room Only DJ did a fantastic job guiding everyone through the night and getting everyone out of their seats and onto the dance floor. The food, catered by Jubilations, was out of this world; and, as usual, Annie from Della Terra was on top of single every detail.
After the formalities of the reception were finished, we were able to sneak outside for about 15 minutes for a breath of fresh air and to take some night portraits. These are a must-do for any bride and groom. The outside lighting at Della Terra is fantastic and it doesn’t take long to get some memorable photos, we’re typically back inside before anyone knows we left. A huge Thanks to Emily and Sam for including me in your special day. I wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
